So, I'm working on moving things over to MoveableType, at adam.haberlach.org. It just feels right.

I'm going to work out something for getting my posts to bounce over to livejournal, however. The community aspects are just too hard to give up.

Good reading. There are some good points about the methodologies used for testing Burningman's compliance with leave no trace, and some damning pictures of people who may be in violation. I still think that burningman does a good job of doing what they do without being overly destructive.

This time I watched the 1998 movie remake of Michal Crichton's _Sphere_, which was a decent, if hard-to-wrap-head around book. The movie just doesn't make sense for the first half, and then becomes transparent enough to be boring.

The Motorcycle has been rescued from Fremont and moved to Hayward. It was pretty uneventful, really. We just plugged 'er into a big battery, spun the starter until it caught, and then princeofwands rode it home.

One less item of mine scattered about the bay area to worry about.

Oh, and one other neat trick with Adobe Photoshop Gallery: it doesn't understand multiple displays.

If I drag it from my 1024x768 laptop display over to my 1280x1024 monitor, it refuses to grow larger then it would be on the 1024, either by dragging the corner or maximizing.

Lame.

Damnit, what does Adobe have against raw-format workflow?

I have Photoshop CS and Photoshop Album.

Photoshop CS has a decent thumbnail browser that lets me view the thumbnails, rotate them (it notes that it is merely rotating the thumbnail and will actually rotate when I open the image), and open the file into their raw converter plug-in. It will not, however, let me categorize files other then "flag yes/no" and it will not let me move a selection of files into another directory so I can create my own categorization system.

Photoshop Album has a nice thumbnail browser that lets me view the thumbnails. If I want to rotate them, however, I have to let it create a copy of the file in either .jpg, .tif, or .psd format. This either cancels my reason for using raw, bloats my files, or REALLY bloats my files. If I choose not to let it rotate them, and deal with the crick in my neck, I cannot directly invoke Photoshop on the files -- it appears to be trying to handle them itself before it hands it off, so it then claims that Photoshop cannot handle that filetype -- which it CAN, damnit.

Currently, I'm using Album to sort my files, "exporting" a selection to another directory, and then editing and converting in photoshop.

Ugh -- anyone have any suggestions?
